Who We Are
Our nearly 50 state partners engage over a million people each year to build enduring grassroots power. Members are based in almost every state in the U.S. and are at the forefront of the fights for LGBTQ+ equality.
In 1997, local and state LGBTQ+ leaders came together, united in the belief that our movement must begin in the communities we call home. Their determination led to Equality Federation.
Today, we carry forward the promise of their vision: that the people closest to the problem, including those living at intersecting oppressions, are the people who will lead us to solutions.
Where We're Going
Equality Federation strengthens the LGBTQ+ movement by resourcing organizations to organize their communities. Within the next decade, no state will be without the power of our network.
