We’re so excited to introduce you to the newest members of our state partner network: InTRANSitive (Arkansas) and Our Family Coalition (California)!
Intransitive works to advance the cause of trans liberation in Arkansas through art, education, advocacy, organizing, and culture in order to create effective systemic change and on-the-ground impact. They focus on supporting and building the leadership of trans people with the commitment to a vision and strategy rooted in the grassroots experience of trans migrants of color.
Intransitive was founded in March 2017 in response to the gap of intersectional trans spaces in Arkansas. Intransitive has provided trans competency trainings to organizations, businesses, and community members across Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico. Their work is statewide and lives at the intersections of mutual aid and organizing.
Our Family Coalition (OFC) advances equity for the full and expanding spectrum of LGBTQ+ families and children through support, education, and advocacy. OFC seeks to create an inclusive and just world where all LGBTQ+ families and children have visibility and opportunities to thrive as valued participants in our schools, institutions, and communities.
OFC began when two Bay Area grassroots community-based organizations merged in the late 1990s. They have grown over the years into the leading LGBTQ+ family advocacy agency in California and one of the few such organizations of this size nationwide.
Our Family Coalition brings a unique and progressive voice of families to the LGBTQ+ movement. They cultivate community-based leadership among LGBTQ+ families and strong partnerships with allies in California to advance social justice and make our nation a more respectful and inclusive place for all.
OFC provides direct support to current and prospective LGBTQ+ parents and caregivers, from family-building to early years, school years, and beyond, delivering over 250 workshops, support groups, and community-building events each year.
