We're Winning #EqualityAtHome (And Photos from Creating Change!)

February 11, 2015

Equality Federation is proud to have had the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and mingle with advocates from across the country at the LGBTQ Task Force's Creating Change Conference recently held in Denver, Colorado. (See photos from the conference below!)

The Federation's Ian Palmquist collaborated to present on school bullying and pushout, Anne Stanback helped facilitate a workshop with the NAACP on LGBT engagement in North Carolina, Fran Hutchins gave a dynamic overview of the social change policy process, and Andy Garcia presented on our Fairness Project website. Team members also conducted longer trainings on topics such as messaging and board development.

After all that hard work we thought we'd better party! It was a joy to host an evening reception welcoming members, state leaders, and advocates to meet each other and build the kinds of relationships that sustain our movement. At the reception we took photos with our new #EqualityAtHome signs. Look for them when Equality Federation heads to the community you call home, and be sure to like us on Facebook for the latest LGBT news and engaging content.

Shifting the Narrative: LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Breast Cancer Awareness

“Beyond Pink Ribbons” is more than a slogan. It’s a reminder that breast cancer advocacy must evolve if it’s going to serve everyone it claims to represent. It’s time to create space for everyone who lives with, or is at risk for, this disease.
