Advocates are working all across the country to advance statewide laws and local ordinances protecting LGBT people from discrimination. At the same time, our opposition is mounting an effort to pass so-called religious exemption laws legalizing discrimination against LGBT people in housing, employment, and services.

The Federation is looking for a dedicated staff member to partner with public education campaigns--from small grassroots efforts to full-scale state-wide campaigns working to educate the public about the need for nondiscrimination protections--to create targeted, effective public education campaigns using the latest technology and best-practices field and communications tactics.

In 2014, with funding from Gill Foundation and in partnership with Clarity Campaigns, Equality Federation Institute developed a predictive model to be used in conjunction with VAN (Voter Activation Network) to assist groups working on the ground to target their public education work on nondiscrimination to the best audiences.

The Training & Organizational Development Associate will provide trainings on the use of Equality Federation Institute’s predictive model, field targeting in VAN, field organizing tactics, and best practices messaging on nondiscrimination and religious exemption laws. In addition, this person will work with our messaging training team to disseminate the most up-to-date, tested messaging on religious refusals, developed in partnership with the Movement Advancement Project (MAP).

The Federation team is fully distributed and strategically positioned across the country. This full-time staffer can be based anywhere in the United States.
