Volunteer Opportunity in Baltimore this July!

April 28, 2026

Interested in getting involved with Equality Federation? We’re looking for volunteers to join us at our 2026 Leadership Conference, an annual convening where LGBTQ+ leaders and advocates from across the country come together for three powerful days of connection, learning, and movement building.

This summer, Equality Federation is bringing our Leadership Conference to Baltimore, Maryland, from July 19–24, 2026. And for the first time, we're launching a volunteer program.

This isn't just about filling shifts. It's about building real relationships, deepening our collective power, and creating a conference experience where every person—attendee and volunteer alike—feels genuinely held and connected to the LGBTQ+ movement.

We're looking for 35 people who want to show up, give their energy, and be part of something bigger than any one of us.

Who we're looking for: Staff, community members, partners, and allies connected to our partner organizations and the broader LGBTQ+ movement. If you've ever wanted to be on the inside of one of the most powerful gatherings in the LGBTQ+ movement, this is your moment.

What to expect:

  • A week-long experience in Baltimore, July 19–24
  • Meaningful roles in registration, navigating participants, session support, and more
  • Two virtual training sessions before the conference
  • A community of people who get it, and get you

Minimum requested commitment:
10 hours / 2 shifts. Week-long participation is encouraged.

Applications are now open and close on June 18. Click here to apply!

Questions? Reach out to Eric (he/him), Senior Director of Culture & Belonging, at people@equalityfederation.org.

We'll see you in Baltimore!

Solidarity with Trans Kansans

The new anti-trans bill in Kansas is one of the most severe and harmful limits that we’ve seen on the freedom and civil rights of our community. We brought the power of our network to Kansas last week when 42 Equality Federation member organizations signed a letter of solidarity with transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender diverse Kansans affected by it.
