Rick Perry: Trump's Most Terrifying Choice Yet?

January 19, 2017

Donald Trump has chosen Governor Rick Perry of Texas to be Secretary of Energy, and many are calling this his most dangerous choice yet.

Gov. Perry has made it clear that he was unaware of what the job of Secretary of Energy entailed, including overseeing the nation’s nuclear stockpile. Further, he once called for the elimination of the entire department he is being considered to lead.

Most of Mr. Trump’s nominees so far have long records of opposing fairness and equality for LGBTQ people, and Perry is no exception. He opposes marriage equality, supports dangerous conversion therapy, promoted anti-transgender legislation, compared being gay to being alcoholic, and on and on and on.

Please sign our letter to your Representatives and Senators asking them to block Trump’s extremist nominees.
