In the spring/summer of 2015, our partners at the Tyler Clementi Foundation are launching Day 1 - an effective, immediate and free way to reduce bullying, harassment and humiliation. And your organization can take part.

Youth, educators, parents, professionals and coaches want to feel empowered that they can do something to reduce bullying, and this campaign starts them on a path to do just that. Day 1 focuses schools, universities, workplaces, athletic programs, and other group environments on a targeted intervention during orientation. Day 1 may not end bullying, but until our laws, trainings, and public attitudes change, it does provide a tool for action.

"As a former co-chair of the Equality Federation, I understand the hard work being done at the state level to reduce bullying," says Sean Kosofsky, Executive Director of the Tyler Clementi Foundation. "We're hoping the rollout of Day 1 will be a partnership with statewide LGBT organizations and many other groups."

The campaign allows your organization to co-brand your name/logo along with the Day 1 logo so your organization can share credit for the success of this turnkey intervention in your state.

"Partnership" means agreeing to publicize the project with an email to your full list and promotion on social media channels. In exchange, partners will be recognized on the Day 1 national website. For more information contact blake@tylerclementi.org.

We hope Equality Federation members will join the campaign to help advance lived equality for LGBT young people by helping to stop bullying on Day 1.
