Meet The First Legally Wed Same-Sex Couple in Texas!

Sarah Goodfriend and Suzanne Bryant have been together almost 31 years, and this morning they were married in Texas!  A Travis County Judge ordered the clerk to issue the license, citing a serious health condition of one of the women. According to The Statesman: "Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office responded by filing an emergency motion Thursday morning asking the Texas Supreme Court to stay the judge’s order and “further stay all further state trial courts” that may seek to follow suit."

At the moment any further licenses must be court ordered, as there is a stay while the ruling that overturned the ban on same-sex marriages is appealed by the state.
