Farewell Fed Head News, Hello States of Equality

June 20, 2013

For years, we've been sending our members Fed Head News, a somewhat monthly email newsletter with announcements, news, and tips all focused on building a strong movement for equality. Today, we bid farewell to this old friend. It has served us well, but it's time to move on.

And so we proudly introduce you to States of Equality, our new member newsletter. Released weekly, on Thursday, States of Equality will feature improved content -- highlighting member work, sharing news and information, and providing the best we have to offer in tips, tricks, and tools for success.

Through this members-only publication, we're hoping to consolidate much of our communications. Instead of receiving multiple emails each day through our various lists, you'll be receiving this one weekly newsletter -- and it'll be overflowing with useful information. (Of course, when we have urgent news to share, we won't delay in getting it out to you through an email alert.) And the best news: nearly everything that goes out in States of Equality will be archived on our new website -- so you can go back in time to find that resource or look up some old news.

We've built our list of States of Equality recipients from scratch, using the names and contact information of member staff and board that was given to us during our member recertification process. This list building  process helped us to ensure that only members are receiving States of Equality -- so we can be sure to provide targeted information that we know you'll want and use.

If you'd like to make sure that the staff and board of your organization are all getting States of Equality, get in touch.

Don't worry, non-members, we have something for you, too! Although States of Equality is designed to be just for members, in July, we'll be launching State by State, a bimonthly newsletter with the latest from the state-based movement for equality. If you'd like to receive State by State, let us know, and we'll make sure you're on the list!

It's a new day for Federation communications. We hope you'll stick around.
