Rashanna is the State Policy Analyst at the Equality Federation. In this role, Rashanna tracks legislation across the states to identify trends, situating proactive and restrictive bills within wider narratives of our movement.

Rashanna received a Master of Arts in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University where she got her start as an organizer, working with the San Diego Democratic Party to increase voter turnout among college students. Later, she would go on to lead demonstrations against state sanctioned violence following the murder of George Floyd.

Prior to joining the team, Rashanna ran the field program for a city council candidate in Harlem before going on to work at a national reproductive rights organization, focused on securing Medicaid coverage for abortion care.
