As the Vice President of Programs at Equality Federation, Alexis develops, implements, measures, and evaluates the overall strategic approach to Equality Federation’s key programs (Public Health Policy, Advocacy & Civic Engagement, and Leadership & Capacity Strengthening). Born and raised in Los Angeles, Alexis is excited to bring her lived and professional experience to Equality Federation. Alexis's background is in Public Health Policy with a focus on Substance Use Disorders in the LGBTQ+ community. She was a thought leader in her field, highlighting the way systems of oppression contribute to shorter life spans for people with multiple marginalized identities. Alexis was named Woman of the Year for CA-30 by her Congressman in 2020 for her work in harm reduction as well as advocacy for transgender rights.
With your support, we'll be able to continue our work to build the leaders of today and tomorrow, strengthen state-based LGBTQ+ organizations, and make critical progress on the issues that matter most—like protecting transgender people, ending HIV criminalization and ensuring access to care, and banning conversion therapy across the country.
