What Will Accessibility Be Like?

At Equality Federation, we are committed to promoting inclusivity and creating a supportive environment for all attendees. To achieve this, we have made several accessibility improvements, including:
  • Updated registration form with new accommodation request process
  • All-gender restrooms that include accessible stalls on each floor of the Conference space

Emotional Resources

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) mental health support: A local, bilingual (English/Spanish) team will be on-site to provide emotional and mental health services. Trained in de-escalation and trauma-informed resiliency, they are here to hold space—particularly for those navigating the heavy lifting of racial justice work.
  • Sensory-friendly quiet room: This dedicated space will be open and available throughout the day during the Conference.

Built Environment/Architectural Accessibility

  • The hotel has a mix of carpeted and tiled flooring throughout traveling spaces. The ground floor primarily has tile, while the second floor, where the Conference will take place, primarily has carpeting. The hotel has escalators and elevators for travel between the ground floor and the second floor. Some evening events will take place on the 15th floor, which is primarily carpeted.

Fragrance-Free Policy

  • Recognizing that staff, volunteers, and attendees may have sensitivities and/or allergies to various fragrant products, Leadership Conference is committed to being a fragrance-free space. Personal fragrant products (fragrances, colognes, lotions, powders, and other similar products) that are perceptible to others should not be worn when in Conference spaces. Other fragrant products (scented candles, potpourri, and other similar items) will not be used in Conference spaces.

Personal Care Assistants

  • We welcome personal care assistants to join us at no cost. There is no need for them to register or pay any fees to attend with you. Please share their name when you register, and we will make sure they have a name tag.

Service Animals

  • Service animals are welcome throughout the hotel. Relief areas are located out in front of the hotel and across the street in the park.

What if I Have Concerns or Access Needs That Haven’t Been Addressed?

We believe in informed consent, and want you to be able to make choices that are right for you, based on real information. Accommodations are an interactive process, and we will do our best to support every Conference attendee’s access to this leaderful space. For accessibility related needs or support, please reach out to events@equalityfederation.org. After June 22, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet your needs, but we will do our best.
