Jazmynne Cruz

Jazmynne Cruz is the Communications Strategist at Equality Federation. They work in collaboration with the director of communications, development, and programs teams to execute our communications plans by envisioning new ways to tell the story of our work and the work of our members. They craft and execute our digital organizing and content engagement across platforms, including email, social media, paid digital ads, SMS, and web

Prior to joining, Jazmynne spent six years serving in various capacities to Southern-based and national Black and LGBTQ+-led organizations, including BYP100 and Southerners on New Ground. Jazmynne’s career in the LGBTQ+ movement started in college in their work at Duke University’s Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. 

Jazmynne received a bachelor’s degree in African & African American Studies, a Certificate in Documentary Studies, and a focus on Ethics, Leadership, and Global Citizenship from Duke University. Jazmynne is originally from San Bernardino and lives with their partner and two cats, Rose and Scuffles.
