LGBT people have unique health needs – and face unique challenges when accessing the care they need. In New York, the team at Empire State Pride Agenda has been working for years to meet the needs and address the challenges faced by LGBT New Yorkers. Just this week, they released a new report that will improve the health and well-being of the state’s LGBT community for years to come.

Each year our Annual Summer Meeting brings LGBT leaders from across the nation together to share ideas and forge connections. At this year’s Meeting, we introduced a new session that quickly became a breakout star of the conference: FEDtalks.

While the Federation can't offer that level of service, we are able to help groups manage these transitions more effectively.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults make up a large proportion of the LGBT community, yet are one of the most understudied populations. With 10,000 people turning 65 every day, many of whom are LGBT, it is essential that we understand the values, needs, wants and lifestyle preferences of LGBT older adults.
The Communications Director is a full-time position which will set and guide the strategy for all communications, websites, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate Equality Florida's mission and brand. You hold the voice of Equality Florida in your hands and must be a master storyteller.
Throughout this past summer, the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP organized and led Moral Freedom Summer. This ambitious project was a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the original Mississippi Freedom Summer and a massive grassroots organizing effort in response to the alarmingly regressive policies that were coming out of state legislature, including the worst voter suppression law in the nation.
State-based organizations across the country are advancing major progress in the communities we call home -- where the work is hard, but the impact is great. Nearly every week, we hear about another victory that provides LGBT people with the protection, respect, and dignity they need and deserve, but far too often, these wins are unrecognized by the broader community.
