Competitive Arizona, a coalition of organizations, is seeking a qualified Statewide Field Director to manage a statewide field operations campaign informing and engaging residents of Arizona about the importance of passing a statewide nondiscrimination statute. The Statewide Field Director will work with the Campaign Manager and Field/Outreach Working Group to implement Competitive Arizona’s Field/Outreach plan.

DUTIES

  • Implement Competitive Arizona’s field/outreach plan
  • Hire and supervise field staff (Canvassers, Outreach Coordinators, Volunteer coordinators, etc.)
  • Coordinate volunteer activities
  • Recruit volunteers for volunteer activities
  • Represent Competitive Arizona at various meetings across Arizona
  • Report weekly on field/outreach activities to Campaign Manager, including daily updates on field tracking tools
  • Manage field operations budget
  • Collaborate with affinity coalitions and grow membership on Competitive Arizona field operations
  • Submit itemized report of work activities weekly
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Strong commitment to equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Arizonans
  • Comprehensive understanding of LGBT advocacy and messaging, or an ability to quickly get caught up quickly on latest nondiscrimination research, messaging and tactics used to educate the public
  • Experience in at least 2-3 election cycles on statewide field operations as a Regional Field Director, preferably as a Statewide Field Director
  • Track record of managing successful field operations, including grassroots organizing
  • Experience in working with voting models for voter targeting
  • Extensive knowledge on field operations, including strategy and tactics
  • Ability to supervise and manage field staff and volunteers
  • Self-motivated, innovative, with the ability to work independently
  • Must have access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel across the state of Arizona in support of the work
  • Well organized, detail oriented, goal driven and able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments/ tasks in a positive, timely manner in a fast-paced environment
  • Late nights and weekends required
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
